From January of 2018 to May of 2019, I worked on an Undergraduate Research Opportunity (UROP) with the multidisciplinary MIT Sloan cybersecurity group to build a database and real-time simulation that allowed EDS dispatchers to more readily respond to cyberattacks. I helped design and implement the front-end UI of the web app in HTML/CSS/Javascript (skills I learned during this UROP and have since used to build this website) and helped create the back-end database, looking through National Electric Sector Cybersecurity Organization Resource (NESCOR), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and regular abnormal procedure guidelines in order to compile a list of possible power plant failures, find connections between them, and then log the failures, impacts, and mitigations in mySQL to connect to the web app later.
